Good rooms but lacking communication
Comfortable and clean.
I booked a triple room but didn't realise I had 2 people listed. When you book a triple I woukd have expected for three people. I messaged them numerous times a month before to say I needed a triple and they kept answering vaguely. When it was too late to cancel they messaged and said I only have 2 people and they would charge me more for third. They could have said this the month before but didn't and then it was too late and we had to pay extra. They apologised but then gave us a room where the air conditioning was so noisy you had to wear ear plugs. The windows also let in a lot of noise and were in very bad shape.

Location - close to Copacabana, store, anything you would need The room was big. Beds were comfortable.
Noisy air conditioning The check-in process was more complicated than it should have been. Be aware that the person who makes the reservation also has to pay for the reservation. They charge for anything - including ironing

A palace past its prime
+ rooftop with pool and view of Cristo Redentor + Sofia at reception was very friendly and helpful (the older man NOT) + massive room (got a booking.com room upgrade) - ongoing construction on the upper floors that occupied the very slow elevators - only two umbrellas for the whole roof (the rest were broken "because of the wind" - and can't be replaced?!) - the renovated area looked nice but my room (7th floor) was pretty run down, vey used and old fashioned
